Voltron's glorious return

Alright so I just HAVE to talk about the Netflix version of Voltron, it is incredible!!!

I am always a little leery with animated shows and getting too into them. Too many of them have great stories but handle the characters in extremely childish ways. That or they try too hard to be anime and such all the joy out of the show. Voltron did neither of those things in either of the seasons. There was plenty of humor, plenty of childish moments, plenty of serious moments, and LOTS of great action.

The villain is the right amount of genius, evil, and obsessive. His generals are intelligent but over confident so they put up great fights before being defeated. The worlds they go to are wonderfully drawn and laid out. The different alien races are fantastic without being too “cartoonish” or weird.

The lions might be my favorite part though. They have decided in this show that science and magic can not only coexist, but work together. They bring this about by make the lions living machines who rely on their paladins to fight and work, but when needed can move and fight on their own. The paladins need to create a solid bond with their lions in order for the links to stay successful. The stronger the bond, the better they fight, and the better their weapons get.

Over all I was highly impressed with the show and can’t wait for season three to come around. This is one of those shows you can watch all on your own, and that’s not the bloodwine talking.
