I know what went wrong with the Vampire Academy movie

Image
So just because it was there and I love Vampire movies, I gave a watch to the movie Vampire Academy, and good lord is it bad. Actually, no, it wasn't that the movie was bad, it's that the director and screen writer took what was made for girls/women and written but a woman, and put it all throug the male gaze. That and the screenwriter did a HORRIBLE job and adapting a long novel into a 104 minute movie. The entire downfall of the movie begins in the first ten minutes. The first ten minutes of the movie we are introduced to the main characters, we are given multiple back stories, find out there is a monolouge, and also learn that the jump cuts with no context are to be the norm. The first ten minutes of the movie sets you up to be confused and dissapointed for the entire rest of the film. But that is what you get when the screenplay was written by a man and not a woman. Like I said a second ago, when you take a story about women, written for women, written by a woman, and then ...

Avatar The Last Airbender, not the blue people

Image
Here comes news I have been waiting to hear for years: The people behind Avatar The Last Airbender ,  Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko , are working on a BUNCHof new Avatar shows. The new Avatar Studios’ slate will consist of an animated movie AND show debuting every year starting in 2025, including the adult Gaang movie and new earth Avatar show in 2025, including the Zuko movie and the Kyoshi Movie, which have both been reconfirmed as in development. I shared the image earlier but I will again, to give you an idea of the timeline. So we have Live Action Netflix adaptation that I am just hoping is better than the last live action adaptation. Then the original team but as adults, then new Avatar that involves the next Avatar after Kora, then Zuko movie, another spin off possibly based on young Aangs journey before getting trapped in the ice, then the Kyoshi movie and possibly even another animated series. So much Avatar and I am here for it. Though I do think they nee...

Elementary my dear watson is now a public domain

Image
Just found out, well, found out over the weekend when I wrote the first post for this week, that Sherlock Holmes will soon be in the public domain for good. I am both excited by this prospect and, based on what they just did with Winnie The Pooh , very apprehensive.  Sherlock Holmes is one of my all time favorite charactors, favorite detectives, and some of the best TV and Movies I have ever seen. He is clearly very neurodivergent, struggles with addiction, has a hard time connecting with people, and understands that quite often the world just doesn't make sense but you can find a pattern even in the chaos. Sherlock Holmes is a charactor that been done and redone for ages, and has been played by more different actors than probably any other charactor ever created. Don't beleive me? Check this out. Did you count them? Did you see how many different stars from different countries and different eras have played him? Did you see how many of his most famous cases have been redon...

Lets just start this straight off with this: So yeah, have the goosebumps gone down for you yet? No? Me either. Let's talk about it, cuz I am so excited to see this. Critical role brings proper D&D to the masses!!

Image
Are you ready to have your nerdy geek mind blown? Well, thanks to the HUGE success of The Legend Of Vox Machina  (which you should follow the link to watch if you haven't yet), Critical Role  has signed onto an exclusive deal with Amazon Studios to create more content. Tv Shows, Movies, and more are in the works at the moment, however, the biggest news is that Mighty Nein is being made into an animated series as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is the teaser again just because I'm sure you want to see it again. The goosebumps!!!!!!! I for one am super excited to see what they do with this series. Though, for those of you who haven't seen it (have you been living under a rock?) I suppose I should at least give some back story. The Mighty Nein adventuring party — a band of criminals and misfits — are the only ones who can prevent the kingdom from plunging into chaos when an arcane artifact capable of reshaping reality falls into the wrong hands. This was run as a TTRPG and ran ...

Justin Roiland is a bad guy?

Welcome back, glad to see you came back for today's post, I appreciate it. Today we are talking Justin Roiland and how apparently he has turned out to be a douche bag of a guy. As per an NBC news report published on Friday, January 13, Justin is facing felony domestic violence charges in a 2020 incident that occured in Orange County, California. He is being charged with one felony count of domestic battery on a spouse/cohabitant with corporal injury, and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud, and/or deceit. So yeah, if these are all true, he's apparently an asshole at home. So when I first read it I had the slightest bit of hope that maybe it was a misunderstanding or someone just going after him for the money. However, the more research that I did, the less likely that seemed to be. With just a small google search I found that not only is everyone cutting ties with him, but also, it appears he has a thing for chatting up underage girls online.  T...

Well Hello There.............

Image
Hi, so, um, I think we are back now. I know it's been a while, our last post was 2020, and the post before that was 2017, so yeah, it's been a while. So, here we go......... See, and I jump down here to start writing and I can't think of what I want to write about. There is soooooooooo much going on in the geek realms right now that it is hard to keep track of it all. Well, supposed I can list a lot of them here, and then come back and write more about each of them throughout the next few days. Yeah? Sure, why not. Alright then, let's go. 1) Adult Swim and Hulu have cut ties with Justin Roiland after domestic abuse charges. pic.twitter.com/npS7WpywtD — Rick and Morty (@RickandMorty) January 24, 2023 2) Critical Role's Mighty Nein Heads to Prime Video 3) Power Rangers 30th Anniversay Special is being made for Netflix. 4)  Sherlock Holmes Enters the Public Domain for the Last Time 5) Avatar The Last Airbender Universe is getting new shows and movies and a ...
