Hmmmm first post.....
Where do I even begin?
Well, I guess first off my name is Byron, though my nerdy friends call me Bert (long story), and I am a nerd. Not any specific kind of nerd, more just a general love for nerdy things kind of nerd. Fan of trek and wars, fan of Stargate and firefly, fan of video games though more RTS and puzzle than FPS. Big fan of technology in general and long for the day that I have the money to be at the forefront of things, I am usually about a step or two behind, but only because of money. Laptop is almost 4 years old, newest game console is an xbox360 slim; the TV is 1080p but 3 years old. I do try to keep up with the latest phones and gear for that, got note 3, Plantronics voyager earpiece, Bluetooth keyboard, Chromecast for the TV, just need a galaxy gear smart watch and I'll be happy with that end of it.
Away from technology I am a large sci-fi fantasy fan. From Doctor Who to Star Trek, from Stargate (minus Stargate universe which was a horrible attempt to cross BSG and Stargate) to Agents of SHIELD, from Firefly to Quantum Leap, from Fringe to Supernatural, from Chuck to Arrow and Flash, just a big fan of watching people save the world every episode while I sit back and let myself vanish into their worlds. As much as I love TV, I am also a big fan of movies. I would start listing them but I never know what order to put them in, Weird Science makes the top of the list every time, plus first Avengers, Day Watch/Night Watch, Blade series, can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen Star Trek Nemesis, and so on. I love action, comedy, thrillers, and so on, but sci-fi and fantasy are my usual go to movies.
Just started going back through Star Trek TNG on Netflix, Watched first two episodes today. Enjoyed the old school special effects, the baby face of Will Wheaton, the inability to age of Patrick Stewart, the call back to the original series in the second episode of TNG, their attempt to show that it was a show with a high moral compass, and how emotionless Data really was in the beginning.
This blog and hopefully soon YouTube videos will be a place for me to talk about nerdy things, parenting things, relationship things, technology things, and whatever else pops into my head. I hope you guys enjoy it, I hope you subscribe to us and comment, I hope this goes somewhere, but hey, even if it doesn't, I plan to keep doing this for quite a while. Venting is good for the soul, so is the Bloodwine.
