Oh no, The Doctor is a woman, everyone run and hide........
I am so annoyed with all the cry baby men who say they are going to boycott Doctor Who because the 13th Doctor is a woman. Woopty Fricken Doo it's being played by a woman, it's only been played by men for the last 50+ years, 13 of them in fact (war doctor was a regeneration even if not counted in number of doctors). So why is it such a bad thing that a woman is playing the character? Not just that, but a talented actress to boot.
It's a bad thing because men can't handle the thought that women could ever be as good as them. It is a bad thing because everything that goes against the misogynistic status quo is just people giving in to "politically correct snowflakes". You know what I say to them? Screw you and your fragile ego. YOU ARE THE SNOWFLAKE!!!!!!! Is your male ego really that fragile that a woman doing something men usually do is the worst thing ever? Is your entire life built on the idea that if a woman takes the lead in a show you like that it MUST be because the tiny minority that is woman kind is bitching again? Just to let you know, far as I can tell there isn't really anything on Earth that a woman can't do. Oh, and also, on the planet Earth, there are more women then men overall, just FYI.
Biggest argument I have heard against a female Doctor is that at some point in the show one of the Doctors said that Time Lords can't regenerate into other genders. Are you also aware that one of the Doctors said they only get 12 regeneration's, so the whole show should have ended with Matt Smith? They can change the rules as they go, after all, he is an alien species who uses energy stored up to regenerate their body to keep from dying while traveling through time and space, in a tiny police box that is much bigger on the inside. It is science-FICTION after all, that is loved by men and WOMEN alike, and it's giving a woman a chance to play the lead character instead of ALWAYS being the side kick.
I for one think it is a GREAT choice by the BBC and am thoroughly looking forward to the next season of the show to see where they go with it, or it could just be the Blood Wine Talking.
